<p>Val Fontama is a Senior Product Manager responsible for Data in the Enterprise Application Platform Marketing team at Microsoft. Val led the launch of SQL Server Fast Track Data Warehouse. He was closely involved in the acquisition and integration of DATAllegro and now leads the launch of SQL Server 2008 R2 Parallel Data Warehouse (formerly codenamed Project "Madison"). Val coordinated Launch Operations for SQL Server 2008 and also does strategic planning for future releases of the product.</p> <p>Prior to Microsoft Val was a New Technology Consultant at Equifax in London where he applied Data Mining to improve Analytics in the Consumer Credit industry. He also worked at multiple startups in London and Cambridge, UK before pursuing an MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management at the Wharton School in Philadelphia. Val holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, M.Sc. in Computing and B.Sc. in Mathematics and Electronics.</p>
